Our Story

Our Story

For over 85 years, our church has been a beacon of faith and fellowship for the Spanish-speaking community in Jackson County. Our story is one of God's faithfulness, rooted in a rich history that began as early as 1939.

From Humble Beginnings to a Permanent Home:
The mission work as we know it today was officially established in the 1950's by the dedicated Ramiro G. Rodriguez. His passion and vision laid the groundwork for the vibrant church family we have become. As our congregation grew, so did the need for a place to call our own. In the early 1960's, through a blessed partnership with First Baptist Church and the Home Mission Board, construction began on a new building. We joyfully opened the doors to this building—our current church home—in 1965. A few years later, the dedicated men of First Baptist Church built our parsonage.

Continuing the Mission:
In 2015, our church officially adopted the name First Baptist Mission to reflect our enduring commitment to serving God and our community. Today, that mission is carried forward under the leadership of Senior Pastor Ruben Mesa and Associate Pastor Adrian Rodas.

We want to express our deepest gratitude to the First Baptist Church family. We would not be here today without their foundational love, support, and dedicated hard work. As we honor our past, we look forward with excitement to continuing our mission in Jackson County for many years to come!
